About the Recipe

Mint is one of the most enjoyed after dinner drinks not just for the cool taste but for the digestive benefits.This recipe using fresh spearmint from the garden (or your grocery store, farmers market, etc) and some water. This can be enjoyed hot, iced or add one or two of the optional ingredients listed.

*Spearmint is used with PCOS as it may help to lower testosterone levels.

Ingredients

  • 2 spearmint leaves

  • 8-12 oz hot water

  • Lemon wedge (optional)

  • ¼ to ½ teaspoon honey (optional)

  • Slice of ginger root (optional)

Preparation

  1. Roll two mint leaves between your fingers to release some of the oils and place in a cup. Add the hot water and let steep for 5 minutes. If desired, add in the lemon juice from a wedge of lemon, or stir in honey or steep the mint with a slice of ginger for a true digestive aid. Or, simile enjoy the mint on it’s own.
